Beer: A Wyoming Taproom Tour

After a long day of skiing, hiking, or sightseeing in Wyoming’s beautiful state parks and wildlife refuges, there is nothing quite as satisfying as settling into the comfortable couches at one of these excellent taprooms.

Beer in Wyoming is a big deal. With over 50 breweries statewide, it’s hard to pick the best places to visit. To help you out, we’ve compiled this list of some of our favorite taprooms from around the state! Here are just a few that you should check out next time you visit:

The Tap Room – Jackson Hole

This is the place to be if you’re looking for a laidback atmosphere with cool tunes and good beer. The Tap Room has more than 50 beers on tap, so whether it’s IPAs or stouts that suit your taste buds, they’ll have something for you! Their signature drink is called “The Dude Abides”, which includes stout from Steamboat Mountain Brewery in Wyoming. Whether you want to watch football games indoors or soak up some sun outside at their scenic patio bar, this Jackson Hole spot will make sure that drinks are always flowing and vibes are high. It doesn’t matter what time of year – these guys never disappoint!

Snake River Brewing Company   – Jackson Hole

If you’re looking for an on-site brewery with a variety of excellent beers, then this is the place to be. With their “comfortably cool” indoor taproom and outdoor patio bar, there’s no shortage of space or tasty drinks! Snake River Brewing Company has some great selection too – from IPAs to stouts and everything in between. They have one stand-out beer that we recommend: Tenzing American IPA.

Beartooth Brewery & Pub – Red Lodge

You’ll find Beartooth Brewery just off I-90 in downtown Red Lodge (about 45 minutes outside Yellowstone National Park). This establishment features delicious brews like Cowboy Kolsch Ale brewed by Melvin Brewing Co., Steamboat Lager crafted by Steamboat Mountain  Brewery, and their own signature beers like Beartooth Blonde. Whether you’re looking to drink on-site or take some home in a growler (their specialty), this is the place for you!

Melvin Brewing – Jackson and Alpine

With two locations that are just 45 minutes apart, it’s easy to get your Melvin Brewing fix whenever you want! This family-owned brewery has been serving beer since 1997 and they’ve got something special for everyone: from stouts like Coffee & Cream Ale to IPAs such as Killer Bees Honey IPA. They have one standout brew called Chchkn Hitz brewed by Snake River Brewing Co., who also happens to be our second featured taproom up above. It doesn’t matter what kind of day you’ve had – Melvin’s got your back.

Steamboat Mountain Brewery

It doesn’t get any more authentic than this! Steamboat Mountain is an on-site brewery in the heart of Jackson Hole that also has a great brewpub and patio bar for you to enjoy after skiing at nearby Grand Targhee Resort. The beers they offer are excellent – especially their Heil Ranch Pale Ale, which is one of our favorites here at Inbound Now. Whether it’s IPA or stout season, these guys have something for everyone to enjoy!

Tapped Out

With over 50 breweries statewide, beer lovers will want to visit every single taproom we’ve mentioned above. If what we listed here isn’t enough, check out some of these too!

  • The Campbell Taproom is a family-friendly spot with live music and food trucks every night of the week. Famous for its pizza, you’ll find this taproom in Laramie
  • Head over to the Crowbar Pub & Grill in Cody on Wednesdays when they give away free beer! This is also one of our favorite spots to enjoy game day action on TV – they’re located in Cody
  • The Lucky Dawg Saloon has an appetizing menu and 50 beers that rotate daily so there’s always something new to try out! Located in Torrington.

As you can see, there’s enough beer to go around in Wyoming. It doesn’t matter if you’re a craft beer connoisseur or just enjoy the occasional Budweiser, there’s something for everyone! And don’t worry – even though this list is by no means exhaustive (more on that later!), these are some of our favorite places worth checking out too!
